A Kitchen Courtyard - with a difference .....

these are images that I took whilst at an open garden in Johannesburg.

I came round the corner only to be greeted by this fantastic kitchen courtyard with a definite french or european flair ....

gravel, french styled table and chairs, a bicycle, and of course wonderful pots...

some with herbs, others with plants .....

and since this spot is right outside the (gorgeous!!!!) kitchen, personally, I would certainly utilise the pots for herbs and small vegetables ....

A Country Styled Garden

I hadn't done a garden psot in quite some time and thought, today is the day ...

This is a  collection of images from a country styled garden in Australia.  It's been perfectly laid out and the utmost attention to detail given to it.  Note how the flowers are white and all other "touches" are worn and weathered in shades of white.

I really believe we should use every little bit of space effectively - whether with a focal point - waterfeature/ large pot or feature plant - or with a lovely benh or bistro set -   this normally encourages one to venture outdoors and enjoy the fresh air  ....

another great outdoor living space idea - a versatile gazebo with plants creeping along it .... a bistro table, a few chairs, some tea lights/ candfles/ lanterns and you have the ideal spot for sundowners, an early dinner... or whatever else takes your fancy!
