A Country Styled Garden

I hadn't done a garden psot in quite some time and thought, today is the day ...
This is a  collection of images from a country styled garden in Australia.  It's been perfectly laid out and the utmost attention to detail given to it.  Note how the flowers are white and all other "touches" are worn and weathered in shades of white.

A versatile gazebo

another great outdoor living space idea - a versatile gazebo with plants creeping along it .... a bistro table, a few chairs, some tea lights/ candfles/ lanterns and you have the ideal spot for sundowners, an early dinner... or whatever else takes your fancy!

Waterfeatures

A few options in terms of water features for the garden.
The style and size you choose is really dependent on the style of your home and garden and also the space you have available.
a very simple country/ french inspired waterfeature
a trough like waterfeature - perfect in a provencal type garden
a classical design

a simple, almost modern design to complement the lines of the house - where a more classical or even ornate waterfeature would also have fitted in.

so as you can see,  anything can be used and really any spot in the garden will do, to create a little haven to rest and enjoy.   To see other posts in the series "Little corners of the Carden" click here.

Potted Gardens

Whether you use pots as a feature, such as the one above, or because you enjoy them, or because you lack the space, a potted garden can work very well in most settings.   Here are a few examples of how effectively pots can be used:

an array or small shrubs and annuals in terracotta pots, gathered together for impact

another feature pot, with ground cover trailing over it's sides

giant pots with lollipops and hedged shrubs, placed along a wall

lavender in urns on pedestals

all in a neat row .... terracotta pots with conifers

just remember that pots require feeding and more regular watering.

What number are you? First Impressions 3.

I covered "first impressions" in two previous posts i.e. the impact of the entrance to your property, which really is the first thing people see about you as a person and of your home.
In recent months, whilst out and about taking pictures I have found a number of interesting examples of what people have used to indicate the number of their house, and am posting a few here .... there really is no end to the options available and the level of creativity ..... from mosaics, above, to...
from a converted water fountain ....

to a customised tile .....

to decorative, cut out, rusted, metal work ....

to aluminium laser cut letters .....

Look around when you are next out and about, and take note of the abundance of creativity!
